Pineapple May 2017 Issue

Hello everyone! This month, I thought I would pull something from my graduation remarks about being involved. We all have limited time, so we must choose wisely where we participate and align ourselves with. This applies to both our personal and professional lives.

Professionally, it is not enough these days to just go to class or take a course. It’s all about who you know. Joining industry associations is a great way to meet people. By joining, I don’t just mean join, but really participate. Go to meetings, get out of your comfort zone and introduce yourself to people. The best way to engage with members is to volunteer, perhaps join a committee within the association. That is how you build lasting relationships. If you need help, contact one of us at the school.
